News :

after reading the following post I decided not to let Strelka 6 play and replace it with the 5.5 64bit version awaiting news on future versions of Strelka. However, the results of Strelka 6 will remain valid for the Elo database.
Orginal Post :
"Saw this posted elsewhere. It's what Jury Osipov had to say about Strelka 6:
-Houdini 4 code-base was used with the following main changes
-Some changes in the PST.
-Material imbalance table is not calculated but is built-in.
-A built in database of positions reached in decisive LTC games betwen strong engines in the past two years.
It is only a test version"

General FCCG info

The choice of engines :
Chess engines participating in the live events are part of the my collection and the participants of the FCCG Master Chess League, test tournaments and Gauntlets will be chosen at my discretion.

Not all engines in the collection can compete in the Master Chess League for the limited number of participants selected. The engines not participating in the tournament will be defined as "In Standby". However, all engines can participate in other tournaments, tests and gauntlets of the FCCG.

The latest versions of the engines available in the collection will always participate in the various tournaments and tests if fully compatible with the hardware and software used.

The 64bit engines will always be preferred to the 32bit engines if available and fully compatible with the system used.

The Commercial engines present in my collection will always be at my discretion also on the basis of the possibility to purchase it in case of engines not donated to the FCCG site, the same reason why the last versions of commercial engines may not be available.

Categories :
The FCCG is divided into two categories of engines: Free and Commercial.

All free open or closed source engines are considered for "Free", including derivates (generally under the GPL license) as long as they have undergone "fairly important" revisions in the code (eg Caligula and TSCP or Greko and Igel which show substantial differences in the code). Programs that are known and verified as clones of other chess engines will not be taken into consideration, these if already present in my collection will be removed. Any suspected clone but not ascertained, will be able to participate. However, we invite you to report any "not properly assessed" clones by me.

All paid engines are considered for "Commercial", including engines derived from free open source engines as long as they have undergone "fairly important" revisions in the code (Example Vitruvius). Programs that are known and verified as clones of other chess engines will not be taken into consideration, these if already present in my collection will be removed. Any suspected clone but not ascertained, will be able to participate. However, we invite you to report any "not properly assessed" clones by me.

In my collection there are more than one engine of the same author. Multiple engines of the same author can participate in different categories for a maximum of 2 engines for category, except for engines created by an author for third party companies which will be considered property not of the author but of the company (as in the case of Fritz 16 and Rybka 4 in commercial category by same author, but Rybka free can play in free category). An engine can be replaced with another of the same author taking his place in the tournament at the request of the author himself or for my decision. There may also be different versions of the same game engine if one free and one commercial each in the respective category (eg Komodo 13 and Komodo free - Rybka 4 and Rybka Free - Houdini 6 and Houdini free).

If an author wants to insert his own engine in my collection he can send an email to luigino.viscione@gmail.com

the same email address can be used by commercial engine authors for a "donation" of their program to my site.

the same email address can be used to request, always from the authors, the removal of an engine from the collection.

FCCG Master Chess League 2020 Edition Info

*n.b.
The Master Chess League has new rules and conditions and new Divisions. This decision was taken to give the possibility to as many engines as possible present in my collection to be able to play regularly in the tournament every year. in the free category I added 3 new divisions for a total of 10. the playouts and the play-offs are no longer present, the first two engines of each category will be directly promoted to the upper division for next season, the last two engines relegated to the lower division for next season, the first three engines of the Master division will participate in the Gold Division. Also the commercial category has undergone a change in the number of participants for each division which is now 8 for the first and 8 for the second. here too the first two engines will be promoted to the upper division for next season and the last two relegated to the lower division for next season, the first three of the Master division will directly access the Gold Division. Due to this new arrangement of the tournament, the promotions and retrocessions of the 2019 edition may no longer be considered, while for subsequent editions the results obtained in this edition will be taken into account.
the list of engines in the related divisions can be consulted on the FCCG MCL2020 page. Tournament conditions regarding CPUs, Hash, EGTB and Time Control can be change until December 20, 2019.

Master Chess League start :
FCCG MCL will start in January 2020

Rating list

Although there is a "rating" section, the FCCG site is a site that does not want and cannot be a direct reference for engines strenght, but was born as a hobby for the pleasure of the designer. The Rating List of the CCRL, CEGT, IPON and other, are referenced for a professional evaluation of the various engines.

The rating of the FCCG site is related only to the matches played by the engines present in the my collection itself and is not absolutely regulated (such as the minimum number of games for example). The rating of the FCCG site is for only purpose of "internal" reference for any tournaments between engines which can then be coupled based on the results obtained by playing with FCCG conditions and hardware without distinguishing the matches by category on different Time Control, EGTB and more.

The FCCG rating may therefore be unreliable under different conditions.

the rating will still combine the results of the tests and of the various divisions and categories even under different Time Control conditions and also different hardware.
